A native southern Californian, Doris Longmead’s life has centered around education. An alumnae of Pepperdine College, she also earned an MA from Chapman in counseling/guidance, and a JD degree from Western State College of Law. Her career included teaching English at Dominguez High School in Compton for 8 years, and then spending the next 42 years in the Huntington Beach Union High School District as a teacher, a counselor, an assistant principal and ultimately as a principal. A member of the California Bar, she is active in the Orange County Bar Association, OC Women Lawyers and the Ferguson Inn of Court. She has served on the vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Tustin, and is currently a member of their choir. As one of the IFYOC directors, she is particularly pleased to work with high school students again!
